An airport town in the middle of hail country
Roofing in Euless, TX is shaped by two neighbors: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, whose southwestern corner sits inside the city limits, and the spring hailstorms that regularly cross the Mid-Cities of Tarrant County.
The town carries the name of Elisha Adam Euless, a Tennessean who reached Texas in 1867 and later served as Tarrant County sheriff. Its modern shape came with the postwar years. A Texas Historical Commission marker records that growth tied to the Bell Helicopter plant and the old Fort Worth Municipal Airport pushed Euless and Hurst to merge their school districts in 1955, with Bedford joining in 1958 to form Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.
Today the city spans two ZIP codes, 76039 to the north and 76040 to the south, and every roof in both faces the same skies.
DFW Expert Roofers does no roofing of its own. The free line answers your call and hands it to an independent, locally owned roofing company working in Euless, and that company does everything from there.

Euless does not permit residential re-roofs
This is the fact that sets Euless apart from many of its neighbors. The city's Building Construction and Permitting page says plainly that no permit is required to replace residential roofing materials. The contractor is still expected to follow the 2021 International Residential Code.
What it saves you
No permit fee, no wait for a permit to issue, and no inspection to schedule before a crew can finish. After a big storm, when roofers are booked solid, that can shorten the calendar.
What it costs you
No city inspector looks at the deck, the underlayment, the drip edge or the flashing on a house. If corners get cut, you are the one who has to notice, often years later when a leak shows up in a ceiling.
Commercial is different
The same city page lists commercial roofing among the projects that do require a permit. A shop, office or church roof in Euless goes through the building office.
Registration and the new portal
Euless keeps a Contractor Registration Application on its forms page and is moving permit submittals to a Cityworks self-service portal. Whether a roofer must register for a house job is a question for the permit line at 817-685-1630.
Roof help Euless homeowners call about
Hail is the headline here, but it usually leads to one of three jobs: a hail damage repair, a full replacement, or an inspection to see whether a claim makes sense at all.

Hail on the record near Euless
Many hailstorms here never get a name. These two left a trail in federal weather records.
| Date | What was recorded | Source |
|---|---|---|
| April 3, 2012 | During a day of tornadoes across North Texas, baseball-size hail fell at DFW International Airport, and the airport reported about 110 planes with hail damage that had to be pulled from service for inspection. Part of the airport lies inside Euless. | NWS Fort Worth; Insurance Journal |
| May 27, 2024 | Baseball-size hail, 2.75 inches, reported about 2 miles south-southwest of Euless; hen-egg hail about 2 miles southwest; another baseball report southeast of Hurst. | Storm Prediction Center report log |
Stones from an inch and a half up can knock granules loose, crack shingles and dent metal vents, gutters and soft aluminum trim. From the ground, look for dents on vents and downspouts, shingle pieces in the yard and granules piling at the downspout outlets. Then call your insurer before any permanent repair, and ask how it handles wind and hail deductibles on your policy.
Leave the roof to the roofer. A wet or storm-hit roof is slippery, and damaged decking can give way, so keep off it and keep the ladder put away. Stay clear of any downed power line and report it to Oncor or your local electric utility, or call 911. Inside, pull furniture and electronics away from the drip, set out a bucket or towels, and keep everyone out of a room where the ceiling is sagging. Take photos from the yard and from inside, then call your insurance company and a roofer.

Filling the inspection gap yourself
Without a city inspection, the contract and the photos are your proof. Before you sign with any roofer in Euless, ask for these:
- Product names for the shingle, underlayment and starter strip, written into the contract.
- Photos of the bare deck after tear-off, and of any decking replaced, with a per-sheet price agreed in advance.
- New drip edge and flashing called out as line items, not left to chance.
- Proof of liability coverage, mailed or emailed to you by the roofer's insurance agent.
- The manufacturer warranty registered in your name, with the confirmation sent to you.
- For an insurance job, the deductible notice Texas requires in the contract.
Your deductible is yours to pay. The Texas Department of Insurance warns that a contractor may not waive your deductible, rebate it, or pad the estimate to cover it, and that a contract of $1,000 or more paid with insurance money must include a notice that you owe the deductible. Your insurer may ask for proof you paid it. A contractor also may not act as a public adjuster on a property it works on or may work on. If a roofer offers to "take care of" the deductible, hire someone else.
Calling the line from Euless
- Dial the lineAn automated assistant picks up (469) 649-7066 any time and asks what you need. The same number also takes air conditioning, heating and pressure washing calls, so say "roof".
- Tell it about the roofHail, a drip in the ceiling, shingles in the yard, a tree limb, or an aging roof you want checked, plus your town and how soon you need someone.
- Get transferredThe call goes to an independent roofing company that is locally owned and works in Dallas-Fort Worth. It hears a quick summary of your call before it answers.
- Work with that companyIt inspects, prices and does the job, and you pay it (or your insurer does, as you arrange). If it cannot pick up, it gets your name, number, town and need so it can call you back.
The line is free to use and holds no license of any kind. It does not visit, quote or schedule. It listens, then puts you through to the roofer, or passes your details along if that roofer is on another call.
No state license for roofers. Texas does not license roofing contractors. A 2025 bill that would have had the state license re-roofers (HB 3344) cleared a House committee but never got a floor vote, and it died when the session ended. That puts the checking on you: ask for a certificate of liability insurance sent to you by the roofer's insurance agent or insurer, a written contract that lists the full scope, the permit or contractor registration your city requires, addresses of nearby jobs, and proof the shingle warranty was registered. The line does none of this checking for you. How to check a roofer in Texas.

Dents on the vents after a Mid-Cities hailstorm, or a water spot spreading on the ceiling? Call and describe it. The Euless roofer you reach comes out to see the roof and puts its price on paper before anyone starts.
